Well, my love for fitness started in high school when I played basketball. I have always loved the title "athlete." In college I played several intramural sports like ultimate frisbee, and flag football - the good stuff. As if that wasn't enough, I became an avid runner. My research on physiology began when I subscribed to Runner's World magazine. I read every page and pretty much tested every bit of advice given. I wanted to run better and feel better. I noticed that the science was in fact true, and I started to love running even more because I was losing weight and making new PRs. I found physiology so fascinating...too bad I was already two years in to my undergrad degree that wasn't fitness related... whomp whomp...anywayss..
Over the past five years I have helped coach several friends and my bro on running and just improving their overall fitness/nutrition. I could and would talk forever on the topics (until I got eyerolls as a matter of fact). However, within the past couple of years I discovered flexible dieting..ahh the world of macros!.... I was tired of seeing everyone else have 6 packs and lean cut muscles and not me! I work out and eat "healthy" too, it's not fair! boohoo. I did extensive research, hired coaches and learned not only about flexible dieting but LIFTING too. Article after article, blog after blog, book after book, it all worked hand in hand.
I do not regret committing to this lifestyle ONE BIT. I developed a love, not only for lifting but also for my overall health. I am in the best shape of my life and making new half marathon PR's along the way. I wouldn't trade anything for the feeling of accomplishment, and I want nothing more than for others to experience it too. God helped me realize how I can make a difference through what I love. I just needed the journey to get here.
So, here I am, NASM Personal Trainer Certified and ready to help you make the life changing decision in the back of your mind.
I have been so excited to get V1 Fitness up and running. I can't wait to teach and coach you to a happier, healthier lifestyle, and I hope your experience will be as great as mine. It's time for me to make a difference, for you.
